University Diaries is a popular academic blog authored by Margaret Soltan, an English professor at George Washington University. Called "the Maureen Dowd of the blogosphere" by fellow academic blogger Tenured Radical, Soltan has a unique voice that combines erudition, wit, and profanity as she covers all aspects of contemporary university life.

Among the most popular features of her blog is Scathing Online Schoolmarm, in which she subjects a recent newspaper article or essay to severe and amusing stylistic analysis.
